Katy was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin "Ben" Daniel and Dovie Ruth Risinger Daniel.
Katy married Billy Braswell Short in Dallas, Texas 25 April 1942.
They had three children:
William Braswell Short, Jr: b. 28 Aug 1944;
Cherlyne Short (Majors): b. 23 Dec 1946; and
Lisa Ruth Short (Snedeker): 6 Dec 1953.
Note: Katy's ashes were scattered at sea in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Their memorial bench is next to her parents and sister in Sparkman-Hillcrest.
