Info. from FAG member Cherie Officer, The Olean (NY) Times Herald, June 14, 1940 Page 3 and June 17, 1940 Page 11. Caroline passed away at the Olean General Hospital after a long illness. She had lived in Portville, NY for many years later moving to Olean where she had lived with her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Wilkins, 335 N. 6th St. She was a member of the Portville Methodist Church. At the time of her death she was survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. J.H. Wilkins, Olean, NY., Mrs. George Shaw, Ithaca, NY., and Mrs. Margaret Barrett, Westfield, NY along with 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The funeral was held at the Halwig Funeral Home (Olean) on June 16, 1940.
