Frances E. Burton, 96, of Elgin passed away Friday, March 14, 2003 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.
    She was born January 3, 1907 in Bristol Township, Illinois, the daughter of Anthony and Susan Goschey Harker.
    Frances had worked for the State of Illinois Highway Department as a secretary for 22 years before retiring. She was a member of Sherman Hospital Auxiliary, the Friends of Judson and of the Elgin Better Garden Club.
    Surviving are her two daughters, Jean Cailliau of Manzanita, Oregon and Sally Millhorn of Elgin; two grandchildren, Joan Cailliau and Beth Hickman; two great grandchildren, Derek Herman and Joel Hickman; two sisters, Margaret Greyor of Sugar Grove, IL and Thressa Goodale of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel in 1975; granddaughter, Jane Herman in 1975; a sister; and eight brothers.
    Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at 11 AM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Thomas O'Connor officiating. Burial will be private in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
    Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sherman Hospital Auxiliary.
