Mrs.; Carroll, born in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late William Henry McGee and Eva Mae Register McGee and the widow of Owen Norwood Carroll, Sr. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Bennie Carroll, two sisters, Lillian Honeycutt and Lucille Cottle, three brothers, Harry McGee, William "Hoot" McGee and Henry McGee, Jr. and a granddaughter, Jeannie Sue Carroll. She was a member of Turkey Missionary Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
She is survived by a daughter, Margie Harper of Zebulon, two sons, Gordon Carroll of Turkey and Owen Norwood Carroll, Jr. of Panama City, Florida, two grandaughters, Carolyn Cowan and Peggy Hayes both of Turkey, nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
The family received friends Thursday evening, January 3, 2008 from 6-8pm at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home and other times at the home of her granddaughter in Clinton, NC.
The funeral services were held at 1pm, Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Turkey Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Overton officiating.
Burial was made in the Turkey Cemetery, Turkey, NC.
