Miss Mercy Elizabeth Moore died at 12:05 monday morning at her home on south Street. She had been sick for two weeks and death was caused by bronchitis. Miss Moore was born in the house where she died, Feb 11, 1846, and her entire life was spent in this city. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Elizah Moore, who came to Lafayette from Pa. in the early forities. Her father died Apr 20, 1874, and her mother died about ten years ago. Mrs Martha Forbes, of Chicago, a cousin of the deceased, has been at the bedside of Miss Moore for several days. The nearest relative that survives is Philander W Moore, of Missouri.
