From the "Boston Herald," 13 April 1902, p. 30:
"The death of Mrs. Robert C. Hooper, Sr., throws into mourning a prominent society connection.
Her sons are Mr. Robert C. Hooper, Mr. James R. Hooper and Mr. William Hooper.
The elder daughter is Mrs. A. R. Stoughton of New Haven.
Miss Isabelle Hooper, the only unmarried one of the family, made her home with her mother on Beacon street.
Mrs. Hooper, who was Adeline Ripley, was a woman of exceeding beauty of person and character.
Of later years she had been much of an invalid, which prevented her from engaging in any outside activities."
