FORMER MONTPELIER POSTMASTER DIES

Dr. Reginald Winfield Cook, 89, prominent retired chiropractor and former postmaster at Montpelier, died at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday at the Blackford county hospital at Hartford City.

Dr. Cook has conducted a chiropractic office since 1915, and served as postmaster at Montpelier for 15 years.

He was a member of the Montpelier Kiwanis Club, a past president of the Chamber of Commerce, was president for two years of the fifth district postmasters, and for many years served as Democratic party chairman in Blackford county.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie; a son, Harry E. Cook of Findlay, O., husband of the former Iverna Werling of Preble; a step-daughter, Mrs. Paul Riggs of Montpelier; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Timmons of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Mrs. Esta Price of Cushing, Okla; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Walker funeral home in Montpelier, with Rev. Harry Mann officiating. Burial will be in the Montpelier IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
