Rose Harriger, 78, of Sarasota, Fl, and formerly of Warren, Pa, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Doctors Hospital, Sarasota, Fl, after a brief illness. She was born May 24, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pa, to the late Francis B. and Marie Blaser McElwee. She has resided the past 8 years in Sarasota, Fl and was a 40 year resident of Warren, Pa. Rose was employed with Warren General Hospital and the former Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel Co. She was a former member of St. Joseph R.C. Church and a member of Incarnation Church of Sarasota, FL.
She is survived by her 5 children Lynne A. Harriger Lester of Washington, Pa; William F. Harriger of Erie, Pa; Kevin J. Harriger and Susan D. Harriger both of Pittsburgh, Pa; Timothy A. Harriger of Macon, Ga; 1 Sister Isabelle (Sis) Michaelis of Davie, Fl; 6 Grandchildren Colleen, Courtney, Jacob, Autumn, Nicholas, and Carlie Harriger. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William J. "Bill" Harriger whom she married October 22, 1955 in Blawnox, Pa. who died June 26, 2003, 1 Brother Hugh McElwee, Soninlaw, Philip Lester, Brotherinlaw, Herbert Michaelis.
