She was born in Westerly, Rhode Island in 1928 and was raised in Pawcatuck CT. She graduated from St. Michael School in 1941 and Stonington High School in 1945.
She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church in Pawcatuck. She was a former parishioner of Saint James Catholic Church in Manchester CT where she lived for many years and where she raised her family. There she was a member of the Mothers Circle and The Ladies of St. James. After her retirement, she was a parishioner of St Jude's Catholic Church in Jupiter, FL. She was a loving wife and mother who deeply enjoyed her family and friends. She was a devout Catholic and loved her strong faith in the Church, and especially the Virgin Mary.
She was predeceased by her parents Daniel William and Mary Murphy Kelleher, aunt Helen Kelleher, sister Mary Kelleher Stillman all of Pawcatuck, and her beloved husband of 41 years N. Alfred Collins III in 1989.
She is survived by her brother D. William Kelleher of Norwich, CT and her sister Helen Cavanaugh of Pawcatuck CT, cousins Clare Shea Zaremba of Westerly and Kathryn Spry Zwier of Jamestown, her three children: Grace Kathryn Grajales of Fort Worth TX, Mary and husband Will Kleinelp of Millstone Township NJ, and Daniel Kelleher Collins and wife Laura of Poughkeepsie NY, five grandchildren: Sara, Sebastian, Laura, Grace Anne, and Daniel Jr., four great-granddaughters: Liliana, Isabel, Dorothy, and Magnolia, and many nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Bayside Manor Assisted Living and Care Alternatives Hospice for their kindness and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, (January 18, 2011) at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, Liberty St., Pawcatuck, CT. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Visiting hours Monday, (January 17, 2011) from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home 121 Main St., Westerly, RI.
