He was a retired director and paramedic for EMS, he served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962, He loved the outdoors, working in the garden and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Duane B. Bales and Jessie M. Bales; one son, Ronald Vance Jr. and one brother, Warren Bales.
Survivors include his loving wife Frances Ada (Rogers) Bales; two sons, Warren and Quentin Bales of Paragould; three brothers, Steve Bales of Jonesboro, Kelly Bales of Paragould, and Kevin Bales also of Paragould; six grandchildren, Michelle Stallings, Christine Bales, Mallorye Wesley, Blake Bales, Kelly Bales, and Casey Bales; and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at the Old Military Cemetery at Sedgwick, Arkansas.
