Mrs. Opal Holland age 100 of Hickory died Saturday at Green Acres Healthcare Facility in Mayfield. She was A member of Hickory Baptist Church and a member of the drum and bugle corp, the Curlee Clothing Company and was retired co-owner and operator of Ben Holland Grocery.
She is survived by 2 nephews Ralph Hilton Whitenton Of Mayfield and David Lynn Whitenton of Baker, Florida, 12 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Her husband Ben Holland, sister Ruby Baker, 2 brothers, Marvin and Roy Whitenton and her parents, E.C. And Ora Ann Allison Whitenton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in the Byrn Funeral Chapel with Rev. C.W. Barnhill officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. At Byrn Funeral Home.
