Mrs. Barber was born Jan. 8, 1906, in Oreana, the daughter of Samuel and Ida Kohr. She married Merlin Eugene Barber on Oct. 9, 1926. He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 1994.Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Donald J. (Elaine) Hynds and Phyllis Glover, both of Decatur; brother, Sam Kohr of Decatur; sister, Imogene Matthews of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
