MOUNDRIDGE —
Marguerite Schmidt Becker Toews, 84, died on Friday (Sept. 10, 2011) at the Moundridge Manor.
She was born Jan. 8, 1927 at Fairview, OK to Jesse A. and Hulda Decker Schmidt. She was a co-owner of the Wood-N-Thread gift and fabric store. She married Lewie Becker on March 1, 2002, in Moundridge. He died on June 21, 2002. She married Monroe S. Toews May 25, 2007. He died on Jan. 18, 2011. Survivors include sisters, Luella Koehn, Moundridge, and Betty J. Anderson, McPherson; brothers, Paul Schmidt, Tuttle, Okla., and Dennis Schmidt, Friend, Neb.; and six step-children. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Gospel Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Burial followed in the Lone Tree Church Cemetery in rural Galva. Memorial donations are suggested to the Moundridge Manor in care of the funeral home.
