Born Jan. 31, 1920, in Farmington, she was the daughter of Ernest C. and Rose Vierheilig Lyon. On Nov. 24, 1946, she married Elmer H. Schwerin in Fort Madison. He died Jan. 17, 1970. On April 21, 1971, she married Alvis J. "Dutch" Kramer in West Point. He died Nov. 2, 1986.
Mrs. Kramer taught in elementary schools in Yarmouth and Sperry and worked as a rewrite editor at National Research Bureau in Burlington. She graduated from Fort Madison High School and magna cum laude from Iowa Wesleyan College.
She was of the Christian faith, a Bible scholar and served as both Sunday school superintendent and teacher. She wrote poems of faith and inspiration.
Survivors include four daughters, Beverly Schenk of West Burlington, Janet Oetken and Karen Enke, both of Burlington, and Coral Pilling of Mediapolis; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
