ED F. ABROMEIT—48, passed away at his place of business Monday, March 23. Mr. Abromeit was born Aug. 7, 1921 at Westmond, Idaho. He attended Bonner County schools and was a graduate of Sandpoint Senior High School. He served as a gunner in B-17s during the bombing of Germany and received numerous honors in connection with his Military service.
He married Betty Jan Warren Nov. 24, 1945 at Lewiston, Idaho and was associated with Sandpoint Furniture Co. for 16 years before purchasing the Pend Oreille Sport Shop in 1966. Mr. Abromeit was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, B. P. O. E. No. 1376, the Knights of Columbus and a Member of sportsmen’s organization.
He is survived by his wife Betty; two sons, Douglas and Duane; two brothers, Albert Abromeit and William Lutzke, both of Sandpoint, and two sister, Mrs. Theresa Carey, Sandpoint, and Mrs. Kay DeRosia of Seattle. The rosary was recited at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Moon Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a. m. Thursday, March 26 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church by Father A.V. Dulbert. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
The family suggest that memorials be made to an educational scholarship fund in care of Jack Jones, Bonner County School District.
