Bessie Lee Riggle married H.W. Reid on 30 March 1918 in Liberty, Texas. The couple moved to Stephens County in 1920 from Strawn. He preceded her in death.

She had been a longtime resident of Stephens County. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors: daughter - Juanita Bryant; son - Pete Reid; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
