(January 16, 1923 - September 14, 2011)

ELMHURST – Ann Bernardini, 88, of Elmhurst, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Lexington Health Care in Elmhurst.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Columba Cemetery with Reverend David M. Kipfer officiating. Gladfelter Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bernardini family.

Ann was born January 16, 1923 in Naplate, Illinois. She married Rinato J. "Reo" Bernardini March 7, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Naplate. He preceded her in death July 1, 2010. She is survived by her children, Michael (Kirsten) Bernardini of Elmhurst and Nancy McGowan of Tampa, FL; a sister, Helen Mucci of Bloomington; and her grandchildren, Martin Joseph McGowan and Anthony and Isabella Bernardini. One daughter, Mary Kay and six brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Ann was a member of the Visitation Catholic Parish of Elmhurst. She cherished her time spent with her family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer Foundation.
