Lorraine, daughter of Anton and Anna (Buzynski) Krzycki, was born on February 3, 1928 in Genoa, NE.
Lorraine was baptized at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Krakow, NE and later confirmed at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa, NE.
Lorraine attended Genoa Public Schools and graduated from Genoa High School in 1945. She received Normal Training and taught one year at country school near Krakow.
The following year she went to California where she worked for Montgomery Ward for two years. She moved back to Nebraska where she worked at the Home Café in St. Edward before moving to Omaha where she worked for the Samardak Detective agency and later for General Electric.
On November 20, 1950 Lorraine was united in marriage to Leo Maurus Baustert at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa.
They lived in Omaha, near Silver Creek and Genoa before moving to St. Edward in 1955. She was a housewife and homemaker, and had worked for a period of time at Christensen's Grocery and Moseley Grocery.
Lorraine was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, St. Margaret Mary's Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary Post #226 of St. Edward.
Surviving Lorraine is her husband Leo Maurus of St. Edward; children: Mike Baustert of St. Edward, Steve Baustert of San Diego, CA, Anne (Arnie) Wemhoff of Fullerton, NE, Mary (Doug) Allen of San Diego, CA, Jim (Theresa) Baustert of Lincoln, NE, Lorrie (Jack) DeLay of Liberty, MO, Morrie Baustert (Margaret Bartlett) of St. Edward, Paul (Carry) Baustert of Ravenna, NE; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Julia Shotkoski of Loup City, NE and Rita Shanahan of Portland, OR; sister-in-law Mary Baustert of St. Edward, NE. and a host of relaties and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Raymond, William and Robert Krzycki; sisters: Elizabeth Fonda, Margaret Pavek, Rose Rosno, and Lucille Wruble; one infant grandson baby boy Allen.
Burial was in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery.
