Arlene Adams, clothing worker
Arlene May Adams, 79, of 116 Washington Ave., Ephrata, died Tuesday morning at her home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Frank Leroy Adams, who died Nov. 14, 1971. Born in Akron, she was a daughter of the late John and Stella Whitekamp Harlinger. She lived in Akron and Ephrata all her life, and attended the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Ephrata.
She was employed for many years at the former Dutchmaid Corporation as a buttonholer, and had also worked at the W.W. Moyer Co. and the Hestico Manufacturing Company.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley E. Smith, Ephrata; Wilma Mae, wife of Kenneth N. Kneisley, Mountville; and Eileen E., wife of George Burnett, Baltimore, Md.; three sons, Vernon F. and Gale V., Ephrata; and Glenn L., Lancaster; a sister, Violet Busser, Carlisle; 19 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
