She is survived by her son, Roger Ross (Fannie Lou) Butler of Atlanta, Ga.; and a daughter, Marnette (Dr. Larry) Stone of Bandera; grandchildren, Ross (Rae) Butler of Cummings, Ga., Sara (Tom) Childers of Atlanta, Ga., Scott (Meri) Butler of Lampasas, Marla (Mark) Schubert of Rockport, Marilyn (Prescott) Christian of Austin, Paul (Alyson) Stone of Austin, and David Stone of San Antonio; great grandchildren, David (Casey) Schubert, Stephanie (Bryce) Stewart, Tiffany (Jeramiah) Parker, and Keith (Merideth) Schubert; great great grandchildren, Bryson, Keldyn, Rielyn Schubert, Neveah Parker, Brylee and Kaylee Stewart; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Maternal grandparents were Frances and Dick Robertson; paternal grandparents were Sarah and John Massey.
She graduated from Robstown High School in 1925 and from Wesmourlan College for Women. She returned to Robstown to teach first grade.
On May 29, 1932 she married Roger C. Butler, a faculty member in the Robstown schools.
The Butlers were actively involved in the First Methodist Church, she being president of the Joy Sunday School Class. She was also president of the Nueces County Lawyers Wives, president of Monday Forum, and was on the board of the Ada Wilson Children's Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Robstown with burial at Robstown Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and great grandsons, Paul Stone, David Stone, Prescott Christian, Scott Butler, Ross Butler, Mark Schubert, David Schubert and Keith Schubert.
Honorary pallbearers were Allen Burditt Jr., M. S. Lachenstein, Richard B. Stone, Earl Davis Jalufka, J. L. Massey, Leonard R. Speer, Dick Macartney, Kent Speer, Tom Childers, Mitch Butler and Francis Gandy.
