Asha, beloved dog of Scott Evans from Denver, CO. She was a loved member of his family and she helped him get through with the loss of a family member. He named her Asha because the name means life.

On October 28, 2009, Asha and Scott were heading home from a walk near by a coffee shop. They decided to cut through a parking lot that was under construction which was left unmarked when suddenly Asha fell to the ground yelping and Scott rushed to help her thinking she may have hurt her leg. As soon as he reached her and tried to lift her, he felt a powerful zap and was horrified what he discovered what was happening to her. Asha was being electrocuted with 277 volts of electricity going through her body. He left Asha only for a moment to pull his Jeep up to the scene and that's when a nearby store shopkeeper quickly came to help. But as he and the shopkeeper tried to move Asha into his Jeep, they were both shocked. He quickly drove Asha to her veterinarian's office, but just as soon as they got there Asha's heart gave out and she went limp and the vet pronounced her dead. She was only 3 years old.

It is believed that Asha was electrocuted because contractors who built the parking lot improperly installed a metal rod. It is believed the rebar hit an underground powerline, electrifying the surface.

Scott took Asha's death to court and reached a financial settlement with two contractors he blames for the electrocution of his dog. His agreement sends two strong messages to the contractors. One is the value of family pets, and the other is about the importance of saftey of others.

Asha was creamated and Scott scattered her ashes in the mountains which was her favorite place to be.

I would like to thank Scotty C Carney for sponsoring this memorial.
