Revises the estimation of Magdalena's birth to "say 1631," with the understanding that this would imply that she was married at age 13 (or maybe 14).

Magdalena Jacobs Verdon was probably born between 1627 and 1629 at Manhattan Island, New Netherland, (location as per her marriage record in 1645). No record of baptism has been found for Magdalena. The approximate date of 1627 assumes that she was no more than age 45 when her youngest known son, Nicholas, was born in 1672. If, however, it is accepted that Daniel, born 1678, is in fact her son, Magdalena's birth date may as late as 1631 (See Harry Macy, Jr., "Some New Light on Aeltje Braconie and Maria Badie," NYGBR 142 (Jan 2011): 21-36).
Harry Macy Jr., "Some New Light on Aeltje Braconie and Maria Badie", New York Genealogical and Biographical Record Vol. 142, pp. 21-36 (2011): 142:26, 34. Revises the estimation of Magdalena's birth to "say 1631," with the understanding that this would imply that she was married at age 13 (or maybe 14). The estimate is based upon the asumption that Magdalena was the mother of the child, Daniel, baptized in 1678 at the NY Dutch Church. The surviving record of Daniel's baptism records as his parents, Adam Brouwer and Aeltje Van der Beeck. The author is making the assumption that the assumption that the error in the record is in the incorrect recording of the wife's name, substituting Aeltje Van der Beeck for Magdalena Verdon (they were half-sisters). However, there are other possibilities for an error: 1) Aeltje Van der Beeck may be correct and the error may be with the name of the father, or more likely: 2) Adam Brouwer and Aeltje Van der Beeck are actually the sponsors and the name of the parents was omitted.

Married Adam Brouwer at Reformed Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, on 21 March 1645 (Banns 19 Mar 1645).
