Mrs. Mary Jane GILBERT, for more than three score years, a beloved and highly respected resident of the McCune Station neighborhood, was born December 13, 1863, at Rushville, Ill., a daughter of George and Angeline JENNINGS HOLLENBACK, and departed this life early Sunday morning December 21st at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lillie MALLETT at Frankford, after having been in ill-health for several years, at the age of 84 years and eight days.

In April, 1885, she was united in marriage to James H. GILBERT at the home of her parents at McCune Station, and to that union ten children were born, one having died in infancy. Mr. GILBERT died July 22, 1940.

She is survived by seven daughters; two sons; twenty grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She is also survived by three sisters, and one brother.

Mrs. Gilbert attended school at Rushville and shortly after her arrival here with her parents, she was wed to James Gilbert and since their marriage in 1885 Mrs. Gilbert has been a resident at McCune Station. She was for many years a faithful and consistent member of the Peno Baptist church and was a kind and loving mother and a neighbor and friend of those in the neighborhood in which she lived.
