Absalom Martin Ball was born in Laurens County, South Carolina. In 1834 he and his parents left South Carolina and settled in Pickens County, Alabama. They remained there until 1850 when they moved on to Texas.

The family settled first in Washington County and later moved to Brazos County.

Absalom was married 1st to Sarah Ann Smith, 24 December 1846 in Greene County, Alabama. She is buried in the Tryon Cemetery in Brazos County, Texas. He was married 2nd to Elizabeth Cinderella Seale in Brazos County, Texas 29 January 1865.

The family moved to Coleman, Texas in the 1880's where Absalom died in 1899.

Note.... Absalom Ball and his first wife, Sarah Smith-Ball also had the following daughter whose burial location has not been located:

Alice Lavenia Ball. Born 13 Sept. 1849 in Alabama. Married Louis Thomas Robertson 11 March 1869 in Colorado County, Texas. While pregnant, the family left Brazos County and were in Bosque County when Alice Lavenia died in 1879. She is buried there with her infant in an unknown grave/cemetery.

A son of Absalom M. Ball and Elizabeth Cinderella Seale-Ball not listed is Thomas Martin Ball. He was born in Brazos County, Texas on 04 November 1873 and died 05 May 1947 in San Francisco, California. His burial location has not been found.
