These years together
We've lived and learned,
Grown wiser,
Loved deeply.
We will find our patch of Sunshine
In a better place and time.
You'll greet me at the Door
And I'll hold you to my heart once again.
Thank you, precious friend,
For the time,
the life,
the love you shared
with me.

Oliver was found by my father in Georgia near a truck stop, beaten and left for dead only being a few weeks old at the time. As my father brought him up the road rescuing him, Oliver road on the Kleenex box most of his journey to his new home. His left eye was severely damaged and was unfixable so had to be removed in surgery. Also he had been abused and beaten so badly, they had to repair his one rear leg as well. Even with the surgeries done to his leg, he was never able to fully walk properly. After he was fixed up as good as the vet could possibly do considering the awful treatment he had endured, he had a safe and loving home for the balance of his life. He was the best pet and companion you could've ever asked for, a real sweet-heart right up to the very end. Can not imagine why the little thing would ever deserve such a horrible start out at life. But he got along just as good as ever with his new family and home. All these years, it was pure luck Oliver was ever able to be a part of our lives. Was amazing how my father just happened to be in the right place and at the right time. We thank our lucky stars to have had the pleasure of Ollie within our lives, many have said he was really lucky over the years after hearing about his tragic past...but we were really the luckiest of all to have had such a trusting special friend always by our side. Ollie will truly live forever within the hearts of all who knew him.
