Mrs. Josephine Susan Vaughn, 93, of Huntsville died Feb. 9, 1994, at Meadowview Lodge Nursing Home in Huntsville. She was born Sept. 15, 1900, at Marble, Ark., the daughter of Richard "Dick" and Amazon "Zona" Crow Cain. She was a member of the Marble United Baptist Church and had owned and operated a cafe and grocery store. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Albert Vaughn, on Dec. 23, 1973, to whom she was married on Dec. 28, 1922. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Chloe Bernice Roebke and Miss Cletus Oneita Vaughn; one grandchild, Mrs. Carolyn Sue Kelley; two brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Baker of Huntsville and Mrs. Leona "Tony" Ledbetter of Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Mrs. Eunice Parson of Marble, Mrs. Mealie Webb of North Carolina, and Mrs. Annie Utley of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho; two grandsons, Larry D. Ledbetter of Wichita, Kan., and Richard Alan Roebke of O'Fallon, Mo.; one granddaughter, Mrs. Lois Jean Papka of Wichita, Kan.; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Harold DuVall officiating. Interment was in the Alabam Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Charles Vaughn, Glen Hudson, Larry Ledbetter, Duane Popka, and Glynn Dillahunty.
