MRS. A. A. COLLINS, WIFE OF POSTOFFICE EMPLOYE [Sic.], SUCCUMBS
Mrs. Nola G. Collins, 50, of RFD 1, Valparaiso, wife of Andrew A. Collins, Valparaiso rural route postal carrier, died at 8:45 p. m. Wednesday in Porter Memorial hospital after and extended illness.
The decedent was born Jan. 15, 1902, in Sandy Hook, Ky., daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Stanfield) Fitzgerald. She came with her parents to Valparaiso when a young girl.
On July 4, 1924, she was united in marriage in Valparaiso to Andrew A. Collins by the Rev. W. W. Ayer, then pastor of the First Baptist church. She was a member of the First Baptist church, the Neighborhood Sisters, Ladies' axillary of Valparaiso Postal Carriers and Ladies' Auxiliary of Rural Mail Carriers. Surviving are her husband; two daughters Mrs. George [Betty] Clark and Mrs. Richard [Phyllis] McNamara, both residing on RFD 1, Valparaiso; two grandchildren; her father, Joseph Fitzgearld, of Valparaiso; and four sisters, Mrs. Raymond Chester, East Gary; Mrs. Theodore Reinert, Hammond; Mrs. Donald Ainsworth and Mrs. R. E. Allison, of Valparaiso. Her mother preceded her in death two years ago.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p. m., Saturday at the First Baptist church, with the Rev Herman E. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends may call at the Bartholomew Funeral home, 102 Monroe, from 4 p. m. Friday until noon Saturday when the body will lie in state at the first Baptist church until time of services.
