Beatrice "Bobbie" Abel, 96, of Inverness, Florida formerly of Carmel, NY passed away on August 28, 2011. Mrs. Abel was born on April 12, 1915 to Clarence and Jennie (Larson) Johnson in Hartford, Ct. On February 22, 1941 she married Erling Abel, in Springfield, Mass. Mrs. Abel was a Massage Therapist and worked in several areas, such as Carmel, Mahopac, and NYC. She has lived in Inverness Florida for the past 19 years where she was a member of the Citrus Newcomers Club. When she lived in Carmel, she was an active member of the Senior Citizens Club in Mahopac, NY. Bobbie is survived by her loving daughter Linda Tompkins and her husband Thomas, two wonderful grandchildren; Karen Tompkins-Greenwood and her husband Carl, Douglas Tompkins and his wife Becki; three adoring great-grandchildren; Caitlyn Tompkins, Kevin Greenwood and Kyle Greenwood, as well as, her niece Joyce Camp and her nephew Ronald Johnson. Bobbie is predeceased by her beloved husband Erling and her brother Clarence Johnson. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 4, 2011 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc. A service will be on Monday, September 5, 2011 at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Mahopac Falls, NY.
