US Congressman. Elected to represent New York's 10th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1829 to 1831. Also served as a Member of the New York State Senate for the Eastern District and Middle District from 1795 to 1802, New York State Attorney General from 1802 to 1804, State Court Judge in 1804, Delegate to the New York State Constitutional Convention in 1821, and Mayor of Albany, New York, in 1824.
