Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mozelle Tate Ashley, 91, Rainbow City, who died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003. The Revs. Alton Parris and Harry Skaggs will officiate. Burial in Forrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Ashley was a member of East Gadsden United Methodist Church, where she had been vice president of United Methodist Women, the Joy Club and a member of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class. She was a charter member of the Goodyear Woman's Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Madison Ashley, Sr.

She is survived by a son, James Madison Ashley, Jr., and wife, Verna, Leeds; daughters, Diane Ashley Gravlee and husband Larry, Rainbow City, and Denise Ashley Huselton and husband Patrick, Rainbow City; grandchildren, Adam Gravlee, Drew Gravlee, Dawn Rains, Stephanie Huselton and Alexander Huselton; great-grandchildren, Addison Rains, Carter Rains, London Gravlee and Heaven Gravlee; sisters-in-law, Minnie Lee Ashley and Marion Pleasant; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Huselton, Jimmy Ashley, Adam Gravlee, Drew Gravlee, Vachel Tate and Richard Ashley Jr.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the East Gadsden United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
