Beaver Dam Argus Newspaper, 25 April 1872, pg 3 - Body Found -- On Friday evening last, a party sailing on the lake discovered a dead body floating in the water, which was brought down to the dam on Saturday morning, and proved to be the body of August Winkler, the Polander who was drowned last fall. The body was of course much swollen, but was otherwise very well preserved and at once recognizable. The position of the body--one arm extended, and the other drawn to the side--indicated that he was swimming and taken with cramp, as was supposed at the time. (Note: He was found 19 Apr 1872, and recovered 20 Apr 1872.)
Note: He was found 4 days after the birth of his daughter, Cecelia, 15 Apr 1872.
