Mr. Asher died 2:23 a.m., Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Ozarks Medical Center. He was born October 20, 1934 at Charteroak, Missouri to Clarence Gilbert and Dollie F. Hodges Asher. On April 13, 1954, Mr. Asher was married at South Bend, Indiana to Hassel Spoon; from this union, one son, Thomas M. Asher, was born. Mr. Asher was an avid farmer, enjoying his cattle and customers. His favorite past time was truly enjoying his son, granddaughters and great-grandchildren playing ball and showing cattle. Mr. Asher was a life long member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Hassel Asher, of the family home; one son, Thomas M. Asher, wife, Tracy, Pomona, Missouri; two granddaughters, Marian Harris, husband, Chris, children, Kayla and Trevor, West Plains and Julie Asher and Duane Vogelsmeier, and dhildren, Mikalah and Makenzie, Sweet Springs, Missouri; brother, Gilbert Asher; three sisters, Birtie Barber, Lilian Jones and Dottie Sue Carter; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one sister, Lillie Jones, three brothers, Edward, Hubert and Luther Asher and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tommy and Snowie Spoon, precede him in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Elijah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elijah Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
