Walter Leslie ABRAHAM was born at home on September 22, 1913 in the Elkhorn River Valley near Valley, Douglas County, Nebraska. He was the second son of four born to Roy Clair and Daisy Adelaide (HOLLENBACK) ABRAHAM. His brothers were: Clair Eugene, Harold Lot, and Vernon Warren.

The family home was located about five miles northeast of Valley.
