The second son of William Ashby Capps and Bertha York Capps, Gorman B. Capps never knew the brother who was born before him. His older brother, Van Douglas Capps died a year and a month before Gorman was born.

Gorman B. Capps married Rosemary Frances McPhail, daughter of Mr. ? McPhail and Clenna Gibson McPhail. (she had a brother named Coburn W McPhail who died on Jan 4 1992 in Jasper Co., Missouri- he was born Nov 18 1925).

His wife Rosemary Frances McPhail Capps, who was born in Kansas City Missouri on May 7 1923, died in Dallas Texas on April 20 1982.

Gorman was married a second time to Ruby A. Childs in 1983 who had survived him. He also had a son and a daughter, Stephen Hensley and Stephanie Capps.

Gorman had lived in Kerrville before moving to Alpine. An Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a retired accountant at General Motors and a Baptist.

Gorman has a tombstone in two different states, one of which is placed in the same cemetery as his parents.
