Mildred C. (White) Fontaine, 100, of Norwell, formerly of Arlington, Dorchester and Braintree, passed away Sept. 5, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Earl Fontaine. Loving mother of Lois Carr and her husband William of Braintree, Jeanne Griffin of Marshfield and the late Earl Fontaine and Lynn Fitzpatrick. Sister of the late Thomas White, Gertrude Gurley and Claramond Carter. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mildred was born in Medford, raised in Arlington and had worked as a L.P.N. doing private duty A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Sept. 8 in the Church of St. Clare, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree Highlands at 9 a.m. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St., (Rte. 37), Braintree, Wednesday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family sincerely requests donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association . 311 Arsenal St., 4th Fl., Watertown MA 02472.
