JOHN DAVID MELTON Born September 4, 1954, John passed away peacefully August 12, 2011 at Virginia Hospital Center. The son of Mary and the late George Melton of Rochester, Minnesota, he was very interested in genealogy and was an adventurer. He loved traveling abroad and taking in all the world had to offer while always maintaining family as the most important aspect of his life. Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife; Jolanta; his daughter, Julianna; two brothers, James (Nauecho) Melton of Annandale, VA and Steven (Barbara) Melton of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Mary Katherine (Al) Miller of Edwardsville, IL and Martha (Peter) Daniels of Byron, MN. John was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Emily and Marshall Stone and Olen and Alta Melton. John was a computer programmer for a government contractor and spent his spare time doing genealogy research, concentrating on Peoria County in central Illinois. He also did a large amount of work on the Find-A-Grave website. He was married to Jolanta Obryzka and had a daughter Julianna. His parents were George Melton (died 2001) and Mary Stone Melton.
