Reverand Leonard Williams Sr., age 63, of Fulton, Missouri died July 29, 1986 at Regional Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Leonard was born September 15, 1923, in Boone County, Missouri, the son of the late Henry and Annie (Colbert) Williams. He was married to the late Mrs. Spicie Brown and later married Mrs. Myrtle Mae Bruner, both of Fulton.
He is survived by one son, Leonard Williams Jr. of McPherson, Kansas; two daughters, Margaret Lee Galbreath and Anna Mae Moody, both of Fulton, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, George Williams of Columbia, Missouri; a sister, Mrs. Willa Williams of Fulton, Missouri.
Reverand Williams accepted his call to the Ministry and was ordained on June 7, 1964 by the late Reverand Isaiah Smith, minister of the Old Richmond Babtist. Reverand Williams has pastored at the following churches, Second Babtist Church of Auxvasse, New Florence Babtist Church and the New Hope Babtist Church.
Reverand Williams was past treasurer of the Mount Carmel Babtist District Association. He was a life long member of Sugar Grove Babtist Church in Boone County.
He lived most of his adult life in Kingdom City, Missouri and also was a retired farmer. He was educated at the Douglass School in Columbia.
Visitation will be Saturday from 7:00-8:00pm at Calvary Babtist Church. Services will be held Sunday, August 3 at 2:30pm at Calvary Babtist Church with Reverand Maceo Piggee officiating. Burial will be at the New Richland Church, in North-West Callaway County.
