He was parts and service manager for All Wheel Drive, Davenport, for 28 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sports, repairing cars and his family.
Survivors include his wife Wilma, Davenport; sons and daughters-in-law Max and Jeanne Bromell, Mesa, Ariz.; and Jerry and Marlene Bromell, Grand Mound, Iowa; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
