Alice B. Bierma, 97, of Springfield died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Sunrise Manor in Virden. She was born Oct. 20, 1904, in Auburn, N.Y., the daughter of Fred and Annie Smith Jones. She married Clyde Bierma in 1927. Her husband and a son, Roy Edwin Bierma, preceded her in death. Mrs. Bierma, a homemaker, worked at Berwyn Memorial Hospital and Western Electric Co. Survivors: a daughter, Alice A. (husband, William) Siria of Santa Clara, Calif.; a son, Robert Bierma of Springfield; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oak Ridge Cemetery, the Rev. Nadine Preston officiating. Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
