Ralph E. Holton Sr., 62, Avalon Road, Box 164, RD6, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 18, 1997, at Altoona Hospital, following an extended illness.

He was born March 23, 1934, in Altoona, the son of Clarence J. and Betha J. (Heck) Holton. He married Shirley E. Clapper Feb. 1, 1957, in Winchester, Va.

Mr. Holton was a member of the Altoona Bible Church.

He retired as a truck driver.

Mr. Holton was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High School.

He was a member of the Volunteer Fireman's Association and served as a medic in the Air Force.

Surviving are his wife; two sons: Ralph E. Jr. of Weedsport, N.Y., and Randy S., at home; six daughters: Deborah K. Spiecher of Fort Irwin, Calif., Catherine A. Knisley of Rising Sun, Md., Patricia L. Lauver of Roda, Spain, Pamela J. Brazle of Altoona, and LaWanda S. and Dawn M., both at home; a brother, Jess of Altoona; a sister Dollie J. Neuhart of Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by twin son and daughter: Robert L. and Roberta L. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Juniata.

HOLTON: Services for Ralph E. Holton Sr. of Avalon Road, Box 164, RD 6, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 315 7th Ave., Juniata, by Pastor Kenneth L. Peebles. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Juniata. In remembrance of Ralph E. Holden Sr., those who wish may make contributions to the American Lung Association. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Eddith J. Lenz and a brother, John P. Holton.
