U.S. Congressman. He studied law with the Charles Baker Law Firm, of Bloomingburg, New York, was admitted to the bar and proceeded to practice law in Monticello, New York. In 1827, he was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twentieth Congress, serving until 1829. After his term, he resumed the practice of law and served as General in command of the 23rd Brigade, New York State Infantry, from 1831, until his sudden death at age 36.
