He was the son of the late Charles Andrew and Zenna Spencer Taylor and husband of the late Frances Taylor who passed away in 1990.
An US Navy veteran, he retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and from the Masters Tournament after 25 years of service.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend that will be missed by all.
Survivors include two sons Charles Marion Taylor of Fairview and Michael Andrew Taylor and his wife Barbara of Black Mountain, one daughter Jana Eshaghian and her husband George of Beverly Hills, Calif., three grandchildren Melissa Jade Taylor, Sarah Frances Eshaghian,and Hannah May Eshaghian and one brother Earl Taylor of Maggie Valley.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a. m. in the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service, with Charles M. Taylor officiating.
Military rites will be provided by Buncombe County Honor Guard.
Update Note: Due to inclement weather a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11 a. m. at Sky View Memorial Park at Oteen.
