Harvie served in the Army Reserves in 1970. He held B.A. and M.A. degrees from Texas-Pan American. He was also a 1977 seminary graduate from Rio Grande Bible Institute.
He was a missionary/pastor in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico for 12 years and in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico for 8 years.
Family and friends were received by the Belshe family at the González Family Funeral Home on Sept. 17, 2000. Funeral services were held on September 18, 2000 at the Abundant Grace Community Church. Military graveside services were conducted by VFS 8788 of McAllen, Tx. Final services and interment were concluded at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg.

Harvie's father's name was Hilario Hernández, Hilario abandoned Harvie and his mom when Harvie was still a baby. His father's whereabouts, if known, was never divulged to me.
