Mrs. Caison was born July 21, 1921 in New Hanover County, daughter of the late Robert Homer Peterson Sr. and Florence Sellers Peterson. She graduated from New Hanover High School in 1940. Mrs. Caison was a homemaker and a member of Gospel Center Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands Ebern Raines and Jesse Cleaford Caison, son Clifton Edward Raines, brother Robert Homer Peterson Sr., three sisters Velma Ferrell, Rosa Lee Adams, and Evelyn Jenkins.
Survivors include two sons Frederick Raines, Sr. of Supply and Ebern Richard Raines, Sr. and wife Frances of Asheville; daughter Patricia Gail Lovett of Supply, eight grandchildren; one of Okinawa, Japan; two of Asheville; four of Supply, and one of Wilmington, and 14 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Gospel Center Baptist Church with Reverend Frank Stanley and Reverend Charles Drew officiating.
