Craig S. Lundquist, 35, of Richards, died on February 29 at the Methodist Hospital in Houston following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 2, 1953 in El Campo, a son of Curtis James and Olga Maxine Burda Lundquist. He grew up in the Eagle Lake area and was a graduate of Rice High School in 1971. He attended Wharton County Junior College, then transferred to the University of Texas and finished his law degree from the U of T Law School. He married Mary Felcman on May 29, 1982 at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis. They have lived in Richards for the past five years. As an attorney, he was working for the Texas Department of Corrections in Huntsville as staff council for the inmates. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Huntsville.
Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 from St. Mary's Catholic Church of Nada. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 3 from St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. Victor Schmidtzinsky officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Nada.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his widow, Mary Lundquist of Richards; a daughter Anastasia Rose Lundquist of Richards, his mother, Mrs. Olga Lundquist of Rock Island; his grandmother, Mrs. Frances Burda of Eagle Lake; a brother Keith Edward Lundquist of Austin; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Felcman of Wallis; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives, and a host of loved ones.
Pallbearers were Ken Westby, David Payne, Daniel Felcman, Bobby Horton, Jack Vawter, Keith Lundquist. Honorary pallbearers were David Felcman and Kirk Jurecka.
Arrangements were under the direction of Dulany Funeral Home of Eagle Lake.
