Abel is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Chávez and her husband, Gilbert and Heidi Mueller and her husband Wayne, all of Albuquerque, two grandchildren, Anthony and Ashley Chávez, two sisters, Evangeline Bojorquez and Viola García and her husband, William and numerous nieces and nephews.
Abel was born in Belén, NM.
Abel served in the United States Army during World War II where he met his future wife, Gertrud.
Abel continued his hobby of farming until his early 80s after retiring from the Veterans hospital.
His family would like to remember him by his kind loving spirit and good wholesome values.
The Rosary will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Burial will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
