Joyce Ann Gunn Foreman, 69, of Shippensburg, died Aug. 24, 2011 in her home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1941, in Baltimore, Md., to J.C. and Lois Maxine Young Gunn.

Joyce was raised in Aspers, by her Dad, Grandmother Samantha Ann Gunn, and her Aunt Evelyn Gunn Frazier.

She attended school in Biglerville until 1958 and finally completed and received her diploma in 1989 from North Hills High School in Pittsburgh with her son, Michael.

She was married to Gerald R. Foreman for 30 years until he passed away in 1991.

Scouting, camping, canoeing, fishing, hunting, sewing, and gardening were all things she enjoyed with her family. She loved her Shih Tzu, Panda. She was a member of the Carlisle Eagles, the Carlisle VFW, and the Newville American Legion.

She lived 13 ½ years in Clearfield, where her children grew up. There she enjoyed being a Junior Girl Scout Leader, and was very involved with Clearfield High School Band Boosters.

Mrs. Foreman is survived by her two children, Cynthia Foreman Dumont and her husband Keith of Carlisle, and her son, Michael Gerald Foreman and his fiancée Iven of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two grandchildren, Sierra Ann Foreman Mooney and Canyon Akira Foreman; one sister, Linda L. Featherman of Carlisle; one brother, Walter Clegg of Carlisle; many cousins in Adams County and her uncle, James Frazier.

Joyce requested no sadness over her passing, only joy, for she knew she'd meet her Lord Jesus and family on this glorious day. Be happy and sing praises!

A viewing will be held Sunday, Aug. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Egger Funeral Home Inc., 15 Big Spring Ave., Newville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton and Pastor Jake Myer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Newville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3211 N. Front St., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or the American Diabetes Association Harrisburg PA Office, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
