William I. Barrett was born at Bedford Co. Tenn. and was a son of John And Frances Wilhoite-Barrett. He is 26 yr. old and listed on the 1850-Bedford Co. Tenn. census as married to "Letsey" and have dau. Nancy Barrett age 3 and son Louis Barrett age 1. William is living next door to his older brother Leroy Washington Barrett and his wife Lucy B. Knight-Barrett and his baby brother Duncan Barrett age 14 is also living with his brother Leroy and wife Lucy. By 1860 37 year old William Barrett and wife Letsy Barrett are living in the same household of his younger/married brother Duncan/Dunkin Barrett Liberty, St. Francois County, Missouri (Farmington P.O.). The record shows William and Letsy dau. Jane age 11 and Betty age 5, Randolph N. age 7., Margaret age 3, and John D. age 4/12....my printer cut off the states they all were born in some in Tenn. and a few in Missouri. On the 1870 census William and Letsy/Lizzie Barrett are living in city of Red Bud , Randolph Co.,Illinois. For now that is about all i can recall about this family since i no longer am on Ancestry.com where i stored all the records on our family tree. -I just located my 1870 census on William 46-Tn., and Letsy/Lizzie Barrett 38-Tn. they are still living in Illinois, Randolph Co.in the city of Red Bud. This census list the folling children; Jane age 18-Tn., Buddy (Randolph)age 15-Tn.,May age 12-Tn.,John age 9-Missouri, Edward age 6-Missouri, and Lee age (can't see!)-Missouri. I also have a 1900 census on them living at the same place in Red Bud, Randolph co. Illinois, William is 76 and Letay/Lizzie/Letsy Barrett is 70,living with William and his wife were theit son Edward age 35, single,and their dau. Jane Carr(widowed) age 50-Tn.,and gr.daughter 16 yr.old Maouie/Maymie Carr born August,1883-Illinois.
