He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Boysen was self-employed as a milkman, and was owner of Boysen, Inc. in Bloomfield for more than 45 years prior to his retirement in 1972.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard L. Boysen, Jr. and his wife Karen of Simsbury; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Lynn B. Cavanaugh of Simsbury, Elizabeth A. Boysen of Ayer, Mass., Janet B. Davidson and her husband, John of Littleton, Mass., Jean B. McCoy and her husband, David of South Windsor, and Kathleen B. Boutiette and her husband, Michael of Simsbury; two sisters, Betty Rubino of Stuart, Fla., and Jean May of Fayetteville, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, 9:15 a.m., from the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, Simsbury. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Simsbury.
