Ernest is not buried next to his family. Mount Calvary Cemetery is a Catholic cemetery. Ernest wasn't Catholic, so had to be buried in the non-Catholic section of the cemetery.

Obituary:
Ernest V. Sanders, 73, passed away at the family residence, 1629 Prescott Street, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The deceased was born in Galena, Ill. He has been a resident of Dubuque for many years and for more than 25 years has been an employee at the Milwaukee shops. He is survived by his widow Josephine; two sons, Frank and Alvin, Dubuque; two daughters, Irene, Dubuque; Mrs. J.A. McDonough, St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Henry, Menominee, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Al Hansing, Los Angeles, Calif., and 10 grandchildren. A son and three grandchildren preceded him in death.
